Cake Decorating

Rachel is working on her cake decorating skills.  She does some pretty amazing cakes.

 Of course, the hard part is to figure out who to give all the cakes to, since I'm not a big fan of them staying in our house!

This is a scary monster cupcake she learned.

We're taking a cake decorating class together right now.  We have once class left of level one, then we start level two and get to work with fondant.  Rachel has definitely developed a passion for this!

Sarah's Art Work

These are a few of Sarah's art works from last semester at school.  This first one is obviously a self-portrait.

This was the last one she did last semester, of Christopher painting a Warhammer piece.

This was a really interesting one.  It's made from a piece of cardboard box, she had to peel off the parts she didn't want.  It's the porch swing and bench in our backyard.  

We managed to make it through Sarah's and my birthdays and celebrated with dinner at a Japanese steakhouse.

Steven is really into basketball lately and practices morning and night.

We got our Christmas decorations up, but we can't decide if the bear is trying to eat Rachel or give her a hug.

Birthday Season

We just finished celebrating our "eat cake" week, although we really had chocolate cream pie, chocolate cake, and rocky road brownies (too many cakes in one week just gets old!)  Definitely a chocolate theme, though!

 Not sure how the candles made 45, but the kids seemed to think they did!

I tied the fleece blanket for Rachel and she decorated the cake for herself!  I can't believe my baby is 10!

She had a birthday party.  They decorated their aprons, then decorated cupcakes.  I'm not sure which they enjoyed more!

And Christopher is now 15.  Where does the time go?

Columbia Temple with Aunt Karen
